2011-2012
ALL-STAR Cheerleader
GENERAL Information
All-Star cheerleading is extremely competitive in nature. We train our athletes to compete at National level events. In addition, C4YL teams are given many opportunities to perform at community and local events (which are a great chance to build confidence in front of various audiences).
OUR GYM IS DIFFERENT! We instill 4 character qualities into our program..... to LIVE your life to the fullest, to LAUGH at yourself even on the not-so-good days, to LOVE yourself inside & out, and to LEARN from all of your experiences. It is our strong belief that children must believe in themselves in order to perform at the all-star level. Throughout the tryout process, we look for athletes who have strong desire and strong skills, as well as an open mind and kind heart.
BASIC tumbling skills which are necessary for the BLAST team include a somersault, handstand, cartwheel, round – off and backbend kick over. To be considered for the FUSE team, candidates are required to show a standing back hand spring and round off back hand spring or better. The ability to jump, stunt, cheer and dance are additional skills evaluated at tryouts.
Our NEW TEAM (for 2011-2012) is the DYNAMITE ~ team in training! This is a great stair step between a weekly class and our All-Star team program. The Dynamite is only required to attend practices one time per week and perform for fun (when they are technically ready)!
PRACTICE & PERFORMANCE schedules depend on team level placement Check the weekly schedule for team practice days and times. weeklysched2011-12.pdf Performance dates are given at the All-Star camp before the regular season begins.
Each member is required to purchase a practice and performance uniform*, as well as attend our mandatory Choreography Camp held in August*.
*Dynamite will only purchase the practice uniform. They do not attend the August camp.
